The drought situation is beginning to be a cause for concern in our town, so much so that the Ferrando well has stopped working. To this must be added the increase in demand due to the summer months and the increase in population. Even so, human consumption is guaranteed.
The restrictive measures that have been taken by mayoral decree are as follows:
• Prohibition of watering gardens or doing so between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. or using reclaimed water from the EDAR.
• Prohibition of filling swimming pools with drinking water.
The following measures will be implemented by the City Council:
– Minimise irrigation services for municipal gardens and urban allotments.
– Closing of changing rooms in sports facilities.
– Work to repair leaks and regulate service pressure.
The following recommendations are also made:
– Reduce vehicle cleaning.
– Use water responsibly and use it for drinking, cooking and personal hygiene.
On the other hand, the Town Hall also informs that the Water Battle scheduled for 11 August, as part of the Fiestas 2024, has been postponed until next year. This event could use up to 70,000 litres of water, which is why the most sensible thing to do is not to hold this event. We hope to be able to carry it out in the coming years.
