Herpes Zoster is a very prevalent disease, whose incidence, severity and complications increase with age and in situations of immunosuppression. It is a disease with a low mortality rate but its complications, especially post-herpetic neuralgia, reduce quality of life. For this reason, the OMS recommends vaccination for people over 65 years of age. The “Conselleria de Sanidad” has decided to start vaccinating those born in 1943 (80 years old) and those born in 1958 (65 years old).
Shortly they will receive an SMS reminding them of the need to be vaccinated.
